Compression Springs are one of the most common types of springs available. They have an open coiled helical design which offers a linear resistance to a compressive force. This spring’s design is so efficient that it's considered one of the best energy storage devices available.
Flat wire reduces the springs solid height allowing lower operating heights, while maintaining the same deflection and spring rate obtained with a round wire spring.

(64) Narrow section wave springs were originally designed to pre-load packings in
telescoping hydraulic cylinders. They have also found other applications where working space
is highly limited. This Wave Spring series is designed to fit into a bore with a light
snap to assure perfect concentricity between the wave spring and assembly. When these
narrow section wave springs are compressed, radial expansion is taken up by the gap in the
spring to eliminate binding. Clearances between the inner and outer parts of an assembly can be maintained without danger of the wave spring coming into contact with the inner rod.
